PackCoder

The PackCoder program allows you to design your own packs from our selection of products and allocate prices to each of them. This information is then output to a CSV file (comma separated spreadsheet) which is loaded up into each ProofStation job that is using that set of packs and also to the matching job on the web ordering pages. You can of course have many different sets of packs that can be used on different types of jobs.

	Why is PackCoder Necessary?
	Most labs offer a selection of pre-configured packs but we felt that this approach restricts the choice to you, the photographer. Every photographer has a different idea of the best combination of products to offer their customers, so we wanted to allow you that flexibility. However we need a consistent way of receiving that information and that is exactly what PackCoder is designed to do. You can even do away with packs altogether and simply put one product into each 'pack' (you can have up to 20 different packs on any one job). If this all seems a bit of a pain to you, just let us know what you want in your packs and what prices you want them to be and we will set up the packs for you and send the pack CSV file to you to use with ProofStation on your jobs.

	Important
	it is critical that exactly the same pack CSV file is loaded into both ProofStation and the web ordering pages for any one particular job, otherwise when web orders come in we won't be able to match what has been ordered with the packs offered on that job.

	Pack Pricing
	Our flexible pricing system will apply an increasing discount on the printing charge to you, depending on how many products the customer has ordered, rather than just the size of each pack. So even if you only put one product in each pack you will still get a discounted printing charge based on the number of products the customer has ordered. 	PackCoder Features
	Design packs to suit your market. Put up to 8 different products in each pack (one 10"x8" and two 8"x6" would be two products for the purpose of this count). Add up to 20 different packs. Make some or all of those products either colour or monochrome. Give each pack you own chosen name. Offer some packs with mounts and some without. (your charge will have the mount prices automatically discounted on orders for products without mounts).

	Adding Products to a Pack
	When editing or adding products to a pack you will see the dialog shown below right. Here you can specify the pack price, description and contents. Up to eight different products can be added specifying a quantity for each (in the example shown there are one 8"x6", two 5"x4" and a number of others (obscured by the drop down list of products.) Note: It is planned to enhance this code soon so that it can be linked into our price list and it will then show you exactly what our charges to you would be for each pack as you create it.
