available to independent schools photographers, Schools, Colleges and Universities, by providing an dedicated integrated system designed in house. Our two founding directors bring together an enormous depth of experience in schools photography and software development.

The Lab |

In our lab we run a Noritsu QSS printer with professional quality Kodak Endura paper. This printer produces superb professional quality prints in sizes up to 12" x 36" with extremely consistent colour, even over very long print runs. We also produce our own photo mugs and mouse mats in the lab giving us complete control over quality and promptness of dispatch. |

The Software |

Whilst we are not a software house we have developed an extensive suite of software for the use of our client photographers. Our aim is give the full benefits of digital photography to independent photographers. This software is provided completely free of any charges.

The Photographers |

All the photographers that we use are CRB checked and members of at least one professional photography body such as the BIPP, SWPP etc. |

Environmental Issues |

Parker Franklin share the common concern for our environment and endeavour to operate their business in as sustainable a manner as possible:
- We endeavour to source all our production materials from recycled or renewable sources.
- All equipment in our laboratory is fully shut down outside of office hours.
- Many customers may not want their photographs in cardboard mounts and we generally offer "green" pack options with no mounts supplied, avoiding possible wastage. Also with our "Order What You Want" approach customers can generally order the exact combination of prints that they really need, rather than packs that may contain one or more unwanted prints that will then be wasted.
- All our chemical printing waste is removed for safe disposal by an ISO14001 accredited waste disposal company. They recover as much as possible from those chemicals such as the silver for recycling from the photographic developer.

Steve Parker - Managing Director |

Steve Parker, our Managing Director, started his career in photography in the RAF, working in their reconnaissance photographic labs. After leaving the RAF, Steve joined one of the UK's major school and graduation companies where he started out doing photography, before moving on to manage their lab. As they began the move towards digital photography, Steve designed and oversaw the implementation of new software systems to leverage the advantages of working with digital media.
Although these new systems went on to win a number of awards, Steve felt that there was still much that needed be done to improve the service. Unhappy with the way things were going where he was, Steve eventually choose to make a fresh start and formed Parker Franklin Ltd. with Mike Franklin, where he manages the lab and does most of the sales and marketing work. |

Mike Franklin, our technical director, has worked as a software engineer since the early 80's within a number of companies and on a freelance basis. Mike is also a keen amateur photographer and has worked on a number of digital image manipulation programs in the past.
Backed by Steve's extensive knowledge of the school and graduation photography markets Mike developed all our dedicated software, creating an integrated suite of programs to support schools and graduation photography and automate the printing processes in the lab. |

OrderMyPhotos |

Parker Franklin also trades under the name OrderMyPhotos and we have a second web site at www.ordermyphotos.co.uk which is used purely for placing orders. As most of the orders we take on this site are really for our client photographers rather than us directly, we have deliberately not branded this site as Parker Franklin. Instead the rather more anonymous name OrderMyPhotos has been used and once the customer has entered their order reference and the server knows what job and client the reference is for, the client's logo and the job title are displayed at the top of the page.
