Open Recent Report

Options

Available in all views.

Displays the program options:

The General Tab:

Image Cache Size: Sets how many images are held in cached memory for faster browsing. It is generally best to leave this at its default. However if you tend to use exceptionally large images you may run into memory problems in which case you may need to set a smaller value.

VAT rate: This is used to set the current VAT rate on orders sent to Parker Franklin. Even if you are not VAT registered it is best to have this set to the current VAT rate as this will keep the Parker Franklin accounts software consistent.

Guideline Colour: This sets the colour that image guidelines are displayed in. It can be useful to change this if they are not easily visible with your preferred backdrops.

Automatically download the latest SID database when it is opened: if ticked then each time you run SID it will automatically download the latest database. This only takes a couple of minutes but if you find this a nuisance then leave it un-checked. You can always do a manual download at any time of your choosing with the File - Download SID Database option.

Image Viewer: If you leave this blank then when you ask to open an image it will be opened in your default application for JPEG files. If you don't want your default application to be used then you can browse to the one you want (for example browse to your Photoshop.exe file for this to be the application).

Postcodes: The postcodes option allows you to set up an automatic address generator from the postcode. You can either use a manually generated one provided by us or a commercially available one from AFD which SID can interface to. If you are interested in either of these options then please contact Parker Franklin for more detailed information.

The Printer Tab: Currently SID does not actually print any reports, instead it generates CSV files that you can load into your own spreadsheet software and use that software to organise and format the report before printing it (see Reports for more details). Therefore the report printer is currently only used for printing large address labels and order forms from the Event Browser view. The label printer is used for printing small address labels and currently only formats the text for a Dymo label printer (please contact Parker Franklin for details). see Event Properties and Order Properties for how to print the address labels.

The Email Tab: SID can be used to send emails to your customers and to send one-off orders to Parker Franklin (see Order Generator View). Before SID can be used to do this, your email details need to be set up.

Server: Fill in your email account settings in the here. You should be able to get these from your current Email client application. Note the Reply To Name is the name that will appear to the recipient of your email; it can be any text that your feel appropriate such as "John Smith Photography". The Reply To Address is the address used if the recipient of your email clicks their "Reply" button.

Email Bodies: There is only one "Email body" available in SID which is your email signature. This is a simple piece of text that will be appended to the end of each email you send using SID. You can place whatever you like in here. Note that SID only sends simple text emails and so has no formatting abilities for emails.

Keep Sent Emails for x months: This option is currently not effective as sent emails are stored within the database and SID can only read, not modify the database. However we may provide a facility to store your sent emails in some other way in the future.

Backup Options/Restore Options

Available in all views.

All your program options can be stored in a ".sido" file and later restored.

Create/Update Browse Images

Available in all views.

If you have used Photoshop to modify any of your images then the browse image, used for fast browsing, will be out of date with the main image. This option will scan all of your browse images and update them if their last modification date is earlier than that of the main image.

Move the Database

Use this option to to move your entire active database to a new location. It will copy your SID database file (".sid")and all your active ProofStation database folders to the new location. Note that if you have two SID files (two online accounts with Parker Franklin) only the currently open one will be moved. Any ProofStation database folders left behind following this action will be either ones that have not yet been sent to Parker Franklin or ones that are no longer active with Parker Franklin (they have been archived).
