Orders Menu

Browse Selected Order

Available in Event Orders and Sales Orders views.

Enters the Event Browser view and automatically browses to the image for that order. If it is a multi order then it goes to the image for the first part of the order. To browse to the image for other order parts, double click the order to view the order properties (see Order Properties) then select the order part you want and click the "Br OK" or "Br Cancel" button (to the left of the image).

View Encoded Refs

Available in all views.

All images taken with ProofStation have a unique order reference number and this can appear either encoded or un-encoded. This option switches SID between displaying in these two ways.

The Encoded reference number is the 13 digit order reference number printed on order forms or proof cards (eg. 5449 7209 7655 8). This is the form of the order reference number that is always used to create new orders. However it is deliberately hard to glean any information from this number.

The Un-encoded reference number is an 11 digit reference number that is decoded from the encoded reference. This reference contains useful information that can easily be interpreted - for example the order reference 0289 177 101 1 - is image index 0289 in event number 177 for client 101 and photographer 1. One common place you will see this number used, is to name the images in the ProofStation databases (with a prefix indicating the type of image); eg. P02891771011.jpg.

Send Email to Customer

Available in Alert Orders, Event Orders and Sales Orders views.

Use this option to send an email to all customers of the selected orders (orders with no email address will be ignored). Although only a very simple email client you can add attachments and easily send emails (such as promotional information, or information on the next photo event coming up) to all your customers. You should be aware of the legal implications with regard to spamming. In the future we may add an option into our software to allow customers to opt in or out of such information emails.
