Find
Available in the Event Orders, Alert Orders, Sales Orders, Event Browse views.
In the Event Browse view when the search text is found the browse will move to the found image. Unlike ProofStation, SID displays all the photographers in a multiple photographer event together (the index is displayed with 1:0123, 2:0123 etc.) doing Find Next will repeat the search moving on to the next photographer as necessary.
In the Event Orders, Alert Orders and Sales Orders the view will update displaying all orders that match the search text. The orders are displayed in green as a reminder. Clicking Find again will return the display to all orders.
When doing a Find you can search on a number of different types of data. SID will work out what type of data to search based on the search text that you enter:
- Transaction IDs - There are four different types of transaction ID with the first character of the ID indicating its type; W for web, P for postal, V for telephone credit card
and C for CRP (you, the client, received the payment as opposed to Parker Franklin). If the search text begins with one of these letters (case is not significant) and is followed by only digits then it is assumed it is a transaction ID. Partial IDs are allowed so:
- W1262 would match transaction IDs such as W1262-6530347-41 or W4592-3126247-23
- C1262 would match transaction IDs such as C0000021262 or C0000012624
- etc.
- Encoded reference number - this is the 13 digit order reference number printed on order forms or proof cards. If the search text is exactly 13 digits long (ignoring spaces) then it is assumed to be an encoded reference number.
- Un-encoded reference number - this an 11 digit reference number and is the number used, for example, to name each image in the database (ignoring the leading letter in the image file names). This reference can easily be interpreted - 0289 1771 011 - this is image index 0289 in event number 177 for client 101 and photographer 1. If the search text is exactly 11 digits long (ignoring spaces) then it is assumed to be an un-encoded reference number.
- Image Index - this is the four digit image index. If the search text is all digits and 4 digits or less long then it is assumed to be an image index. This is only relevant when in Event Browser view.
- Anything else - if the search text does not meet any of the above criteria then it is just treated as text. Exactly what is then searched depends on the current view. When displaying orders it will search the name, postcode, town, extra name, email, telephone and notes. In the Event Browser view it will search names in the SIMS data.
TIP: A quick way to find a particular order is to use a barcode scanner to scan the barcode on an order form directly into the search text to get the encoded order reference. The same can be done from an order leader page to get the transaction ID.
Find Next
Available in the Event Browse view.
Unlike ProofStation, SID displays all the photographers in a multiple photographer event together (the index is displayed with 1:0123, 2:0123 etc.). Following a Find, doing Find Next will repeat the search moving on to the next photographer as necessary. So if you are searching for index 123 the first Find will find index 1:0123 for photographer 1 then Find Next will find 2:0123 and Find Next again will find 3:0123 (assuming of course there are three photographer databases and that each one has an image index 0123).
Find and Browse
Available in all views.
Searches for an order reference and then endters the event browse view on the appropriate image.
The order reference can be either a encoded or unencoded reference:
- TIP: A quick way to find a particular order is to use a barcode scanner to scan the barcode on an order form directly into the search text to get the encoded order reference.
